Al Ansar Medina (SBL) added to their roster 25-year old American forward Gerard Tarin (206cm-98kg-1996, college: Nova SE) for new 2022-23 season. Tarin played last season at Salt Lake City Stars (NBA G League) in the U.S. In 26 NBA-G-League games he recorded 7.3ppg and 5.9rpg.
The previous (2020-21) season he played at Vllaznia in Albanian Superliga where in four games he averaged impressive 16.3ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.3apg in that year.
Last year (three years after his graduation) he was drafted by Memphis Hustle (G-League) as #3 pick overall.
The former Nova Southeastern University (NCAA Div.II) star is in his fifth season in pro basketball.
He has played previously professionally in Bulgaria (Chernomorets) and NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the League Semifinals in 2021. Tarin was also voted All-G-MAC Freshman of the Year back in 2015.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
